You can’t install anything less than a 100 amp distribution panel so I would go that route 100 amps will be fine. If you plan on adding things in the future go 150. any higher than that and I would need to know the distance you re from the service.. (pole) but for what you describe without knowing I would guess 3BR 2 bath, 100 will be fine..

Most older homes and early subdivision homes were equipped with 100 amp service because there were few systems other than water heater, electric lights , clothes washer and furnace motor using power. Clothes were dried outside on a clothes line. Then came the central a/c,electric range, toaster oven, dishwasher and dryer, disposall, bathroom vent fans, attic vent fans, basement workshops, garage door openers, mixers, blenders, knife sharpeners, can openers and gadgets. The modern house has a minimum service of 200amps and several newer homes have 300 amps available most with circuit breakers.

Using the alternative calculation method in the national electrical code, you would need a minimum service rated at 95 amps. With taking in to account the method utilizes 125% of the largest load ( your oven) you can get by with 100 amp at a minimum. If you plan to add any future electrical items, hot tub etc, plan on 150 or a 200 amp panel and service would not be out of the question.

Today for you new home a 200 amp is more the norm than not.
