I’m a high school freshman at a good private school, and I hope to go to the US Naval Academy. I do extremely well academically. I have over a 4.0 GPA, and am in all honors classes. I got the highest score in my grade on the PSAT. I am on scholarship for academics as well as my musical abilities (I play trumpet). I am in Army JROTC (I would do Navy JROTC, but it wasn’t an option at any school I was considering), and am the most decorated freshman cadet. I am on the Drill Team, in Regimental (Marching) Band, in Jazz Ensemble, will soon be in something called Competition Ensemble, and am on the varsity swim team. I am an altar server at my church, and work two part-time jobs. Next year I hope to join track, but don’t know if it will be an option. I’m asthmatic, and I also play guitar and bass guitar. My jobs are dog-walking and teaching swimming lessons. My vision is not spectacular, but it’s not that bad either. It’s not 20/20, but I don’t need glasses yet. I have an orthodontic appliance, but I only wear it at night. Does this make a difference? I know about the DoDMERB, and that asthma disqualifies you, but it can be repealed, right? I live in Montgomery County, Maryland. Is there anything else I can do? I know it’s extremely competitive in my state.

I currently attend the academy. I am a 3rd class Midshipmen and only had a 3.0 in highschool. I went to NAPS and am about to be a second class.

This site will give you all the info you need about the naval academy and admissions.
